Maternity portrait session, family in the making

When life is created by two people it is always a miracle.  But when the baby is my grandson, it is very special.  This couple, parents to be, will bring baby Gavin into the world and make me a grandma!   And very soon!

 

The daddy to be, Nate is my step son here with Jessica, who looks so happy and ready to be a mamma.

Babies bring joy and laughter into our lives, so entertaining.  Just the sounds babies make… magical sounds!  Watching them grow and learn, developing into little people, so awesome.  So happy to be able to get some wonderful portraits to add to the beginning of little baby Gavin’s life.

Belly Dancers “Rebellyon”

This group of dancers is all about fun.  The name of the group, Rebellyon says it all.  I love the colorful costumes and the wide range of ages, sizes and styles.  Belly dancers are performers who move their bodies and shake their hips to some music from a far off land. They even balance swords on their heads while they dance… quite talented.

Fall Family Portrait

We photographed Carrie and Leith’s wedding in 2004 and it really touched my heart when they called me in 2009 for a family portrait. This year they added visiting grandparents to one of the poses during the portrait session 11/27/11.

It was a beautiful, sunny fall day with about half the colorful leaves still in the trees.  This is a blended family with the youngest being 4 years old and oldest 23.  They did not even mind sitting close together and were all very cooperative.

During the one hour session we all had ideas on different poses and candid shots.  As they were walking down the leaf covered path, I did some shots from back and my assistant (and husband, Jer) got some frontal views.
