All my life I have worked, in some capacity, with people. Most of my photography is done around events including people with splashes of beautiful scenes, flowers or decor thrown in.
I enjoy the interactions with people! I find them interesting and fascinating. Behind most every photo shoot there is an interesting, real life story. One of my most favorite things is when I get a call from a clients that I haven’t heard from in awhile. First because they remembered me and second, they liked my work enough the first time to consider me again.
I photographed the above portrait in the 80’s. Both kids, around ages four and two years old, were adopted from Korea. They became brother and sister for the first time when he came home at age two. I was honored to create portraits of this new family at their residence in Chico! Time went by and…
about 14 years later I was happy to hear from the kid’s mom, calling me again, first for Janelle’s high school graduation and then Seth’s two years later. Seth had several locations in mind. He wanted some posed with different outfits and props, a basketball and a piano. The last shots were taken back at the family residence where Janelle was eager to greet us. After a few poses Seth he asked if we could re-create the pose of him and his sister under the same tree and yes, holding hands.
Life long clients become close to my heart, I create memories that never fade and their story is quite often touching to my heart.
